About Kangaroo Home Brew

A directory of Australian homebrew shops and a daily price comparison for brewing gear and ingredients, in one place.

What this site is

Kangaroo Home Brew does two jobs. The shop directory lists bricks-and-mortar homebrew shops around Australia, with the services each one offers, such as grain milling, gas refills, kegging help and classes. The price comparison shows what Australian online stores are charging for popular kegerators, brewing systems, fermenters, kits and ingredients, checked once a day.

Who it's for

Homebrewers of every kind, from a first Coopers kit to an all-grain setup, whether you brew beer, wine, cider or spirits. Some of you want a shop nearby that can mill grain or swap a gas bottle today; some want the cheapest current price on a specific bit of gear. Both get one quick path here. Our buying guides help when you're still deciding what to buy.

Where shop listings come from

We find shops through Google Maps searches and the stockist lists that brewing brands publish, then check them: we merge duplicates, drop businesses that are closed or don't sell homebrew supplies, and check each shop's own website. Listed shops' websites are rechecked every month.

We don't show Google ratings, reviews or photos. Shop owners can claim their listing to correct it or upgrade it to Featured; Featured listings are always labelled. Spotted something wrong? Tell us.

Where prices come from

Prices come from each store's public catalogue, once a day, matched to exact products and marked stale if we haven't confirmed them in 48 hours. Prices exclude shipping. How we get prices explains it in full, and our affiliate disclosure explains how some store links earn a commission.
